DELIGHTFULLY ENTERTAINING !!!

Wow! What a wonderful beginning to another great series by Emilia Beaumont! And yes, this is a serial with multiple parts and cliffhangers so be forewarned. If you are a Kindle Unlimited subscriber as am I, it's all gold, you get to read as many books as you like for one low monthly fee. I first became aware of Emilia's work a few months ago when I read her series, Our Forbidden Year. I was very impressed with her amazing talent, incredible skill and eloquent style. I think what draws me most to her work is the fact that all her books are extremely well written and well edited, and also because her characters are so relatable. And this release is no exception. The story is exceptionally well written. The dialogue is intelligent and flows beautifully. The premise of the story is somewhat familiar and by that I mean we have all read stepbrother stories but this one is romantic, captivating, empathetic, sensual and arousing with a little different spin. The characters are charismatic, engaging, realistic and sexy. Beaumont does a brilliant job of combining these elements into a wonderfully entertaining romance. Viola Swanson is out of options. Sure, she struggled through college all on her own without assistance from anyone and yes, she now held an English degree, albeit a useless one since she had been unable to get a job in her field. Nope, all she had was a minimum wage job as a waitress, correction, used to have a job as a waitress.She's now unemployed, broke and homeless since she's just been evicted from her apartment. Yep, she's definitely out of options. She has no other alternative but to return home to her wealthy stepmother, stepbrother and father with her useless degree and homeless tail tucked between her legs. But the part she hates most is having to admit her sad state to her wealthy, arrogant but incredibly handsome, sexy stepbrother, Drake Millar for whom she has harbored a secret crush for years, long before her father married his mother, Barbara. They had shared only one kiss, years ago at a high school party because of a drunken game of Dare and she has been completely besotted since, not that she would ever admit it to anyone. But she can never have him, now that he's her stepbrother. Or can she? Hmmm.....Drake is a tech genius and struck gold only a few months after starting college. He never even graduated but is rolling in money. He has offered to help her financially many times but she there was no way she was taking charity from him or her family. She would never accept help from them, especially him. But never say never! It seems fate is always such a fickle master with a mind of its own because she now finds herself at her family's home for her stepmother's birthday celebration hoping they will allow her to stay, at least until she gets on her feet. What she learns once there is most shocking! Drake is now a father and apparently raising his baby daughter alone and is in need of a nanny. It seems his old girlfriend, Christine has abandoned him and the baby! Huh? Were they ever married? She has no clue. Obviously she has missed quite a lot in her absence. But leave it to her stepmother to suggest the worst idea imaginable - Vi could be baby Leah's nanny. What? That would never happen! Drake hated her! Remember what I said - never say never, because that is exactly what happens! She needs the job and desperately needs the money. And now, let the games begin! Sparks fly! Attraction builds! Passions flare! Oh my! Buckle up my lovelies! Get ready for a wild ride! Wealthy, handsome stepbrother-check! Beautiful, fiery stepsister-check! Meddling family and a nasty ex-check! Heated attraction, fiery passion, unavoidable angst, sweet romance and steamy sex-you bet! I can hardly wait for Part Two! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!

The one man she wants is the one man she can't have

I love this book! 24-year-old Viola's life has hit rock bottom, and she reluctantly returns home to her father and stepmother for help. Unfortunately, Viola's lowest point is when her ridiculously hot and wealthy stepbrother Drake listens along with her father and stepmother as she explains how she has failed at making it on her own without help from her family--especially help from Drake.
Fighting a huge crush on Drake that started long before their parents married, Viola has refused to accept any help from her stepbrother--money or otherwise, because she just couldn't stand the thought of not being with him as more than a stepsister
Drake has some surprises of his own, and thanks to a little manipulation from the stepmother, Viola ends up working closely with the only man she wants and the one man she can't have.
This is such a good book. It's the first in an erotic romance serial, and it sets up the story line nicely and leaves the reader wanting more. This book just came out, and I already hate having to wait for the next one in the series.
The author's books, including this one, aren't just about sex. Of course, there is sex--hot and dirty sex, but it is sex with emotion behind it. Sometimes, that emotion is hate, but it's more than a meaningless encounter.
If you like this book, try the completed "Billionaire Stepbrother (a Stepbrother Romance Novel)" series written by the same author.

Quick read

This was a good quick read. I was hoping for more.....I'd....drama maybe. Everything happened so fast there wasn't a real chance to really get to know who the cHaracters are. Despite that though, this was a good quick read.
