Disjointed
By Monday Monkey
It tries to cover way too much subject matter with way too little background and explanation. It's like someone saying, "Click this. Now, click this. Now, click this.", but never explaining why. Never comparing and contrasting methods.
The source code, downloaded form the publisher, doesn't match the book. Chapter 2's source code is full of various objects; however, Chapter 2 has no coding instructions - it's simply a design overview.
Then, when you try to load and run the Chapter 3 source code, it is referring to objects that don't exist. You dig deeper and realize they are in the Chapter 2 source code folders. Huh? Do I need to import all of Chapter 2's source code? How do I reconcile it to the files in the Chapter 3 source code directories?
Unfortunately, these are all files and not an Eclipse project that you can import.
So far, a terrible experience with this book. PrimeFaces is more confusing than when I began reading this book.

Great beginners guide
By Tandina
Primefaces has a lot of documentation and it can be difficult to find things when you have to finish a project yesterday. That's when the Beginner's Guide is very helpful. I had a little experience with PF and this book provided more details. Great for beginners and reference for experienced developers. I should add the source code is good as well.
